Kombu is sold by grade and region name only, and a buyer cannot check the coast, the cutting date or how long the kelp dried.
Each bundle names its coastal bed, cutting day and drying frame, with the harvest co-operative's sign-off.
Dry on the frame
Bundles are dried on the frame and the days are counted.

The co-operative grades and signs each bundle.
